MSG Navigator 

Route planning, passage planning, voyage planning, there are many claims to fame in the maritime market arena where assistance tools and systems are offered. Masters of all ships have an obligation for proper and safe voyage planning. IMO Resolution A.893(21) contains guidelines to assist ship’s staff for such planning. The massive volume of guidance notes underlines the importance of proper and safe planning. MSG Navigator is designed taking into account these challenges to the master and the seamless collaboration of the vessels staff with the fleet management back office as is a prerequisite in the modern competitive maritime world.

Designed routes can be exchanged between the vessel ECDIS and MSG Navigator. MSG Navigator makes optimal use of the full suite of maritime information services that MSG has to offer. These include; up to date nautical charts with the latest notices to mariners, real-time tidal information, weather and sea state forecasts, historical voyages of same or similar vessels and heatmaps of trading patterns. Simply select a port of departure and a destination port and MSG Navigator finds the optimal route and distance from millions predefined routes. This powerful tool allows professional mariners to optimally use their skills and knowledge for the safest and most efficient route. The navigable space can be visualized along the route, drawing attention to critical legs during the voyage.
